  • Merry Christmas!

A friend called me to tell me she had moved the day of her Christmas Party to the following week!  I had to think for a moment and realized, her party was supposed to have been this coming Friday!  Christmas is upon us!

I just managed to survive Thanksgiving!  We thought we were going to be alone, but our daughter and her family were able to come for the whole weekend.  Then on Friday, with everyone here, we had a 12-hour power outage, thank goodness for wood stoves and generators, at least we stayed warm and could keep the refrigerator and freezer going.  We still have our camp stove, so we weren’t stuck with cold sandwiches, we had Wild Salmon Burgers made with my homemade Sourdough Buns.

I decided that for the Block of the Month, the corner star would be very appropriate for this month.  The original blocks are all hand pieced, but I changed it so that the center is paper-pieced and the outer templates are machine or hand pieced, up to you. Can’t resist sharing more Waggly Tails!

The first one is from Lori.  I love her color choices, they make it such a bright and happy quilt.  The detail of the HST along the border is a very nice touch.

And this one is from another Lorri, who made this for her son, in memory of his 12-year-old Lab that died in July.  It is huge, 103″x 113″!  She said, “He loves it and I love that it is done.” Her neighbor let her use her long arm quilt machine to quilt it!
