I was asked the other day if I was well prepared for the upcoming holidays. I just looked at him like a deer in headlights, obviously, I’m not! Just trying to get ready for this event and the Block of the Month is enough for right now.
Check out the Seaside Adventure Row Along calendar below.
Finally, have my sewing machine set up. Couldn’t believe the area was exactly the right width between the two doors for the table. Quite a change going from a 400 square foot studio to 10 square feet of the family/dining room, but it is what it is and I will make do. At least there is a plug on that wall and I don’t have to use the dining room table for my projects. Yet! I also have enough space to set up an ironing board, so it will be just fine.
I thought it was interesting, that I didn’t hear from any of you about baking with sourdough leavening last month. I figured with all this shut down some of you would have been into it. I guess not. It gives me a lot of satisfaction, as well as my family and friends. Every time I bake I think of it as magical, probably because in the past I have used commercial yeast and now I don’t need it!

This time the Block of the Month will actually be for two months, both October and November because these are two slightly different blocks. When the two are sewn together a third block appears. Once again we will be using my Sewfasst®Techniques for the patches. If you want to make just the blocks and not a quilt like the one below, go ahead and do that. However, if you like the looks of this quilt, I will provide another technique in the November directions to avoid unnecessary seams when making the patches. Stay tuned!

Wendy’s 12-year-old granddaughter has put these Purple Puppies together thus far. Purple and teal are her favorite colors, that background is a great choice. Very sophisticated.
