Before I talk about the blog hop, I want to share the January block from Mary H. Love it when I get to see my designs bloom in other people’s hands! Don’t forget to send pictures of your alphabet blocks.
The first blog hop of the year is in progress, “A Fresh Snow” through Seams to be Sew, started January 20.
It is all about winter and what that means to us with cold and snowy winters. I hope you like my little project. It came together very quickly. It is something different for me to do, iron-on appliqué, stepping outside the box!
We so desperately need the snow and rain, that I don’t want to wish it away. Rain is great but snow is even better because it stays for a while and slowly melts into the earth. January and February are the wettest months here in Southern California. Once June comes we rarely see moisture until November! Occasionally we get a thunderstorm in July and August, but that is only a respite.
The schedule below has the links for the remaining participants, where you will get to see what others are doing. Each project is fun, different and exciting!
There are giveaways too! Click here for the link to those at Seams to be Sew!

So pleased that you are all liking the snowflake quilt. Someone called it a mat and I want to say thank you for that because putting it on a table and using it for a candle or even a mug mat would be a great idea.
Thanks for sharing your pattern. I like this little quilt but I don’t really want more snow!
The snowflake is just too cute! Thanks for sharing! quiltlovefordomesticfelicity(at)gmail(dot(com)
Oh my goodness, I’m clapping for joy! I love stars and snowflakes!
I’m very grateful that even though I live in mountainous desert of Utah, we experience season changes! We are getting so much of this needed snow this January.

Love your applique snowflakes. Thank you for sharing in the hop … 🙂 Pat
Thank you!
Thank you, everyone, for your compliments. Just got back on the internet today. We love the snow, even though it is at times inconvenient. Keeping warm! Looks like we will have a respite for a few days. Nothing in the forecast.
Beautiful. I love snowflake quilts. They are so creative. Thanks for sharing
Very cute snowflakes, reminds me of the paper ones I cut at school.
a fun blog hop. thanks.
No snow here in Pennsylvania. We do however have rain and wind. Saves my poor back and shoulders from having to shovel.
What a wonderful snow piece! Thank you so much for the pattern, too.
Very nice! We don’t get snow here in southern Mississippi-its nice to have a little something to remind me it does snow somewhere! Thank you, Susan
I love the let it snow mat. Thank you for sharing this with your blog readers
Great snowflakes! I like making patterns like that.
Delightful project, thanks for sharing
Love the snowflakes.
I love your snowflake project! I hope you enjoyed doing the applique` as I like doing it.
What a cute appliqued project. The snowflakes are great!
Nice little wall quilt, love the snow flakes!
I love your cute quilt hanging–when I lived in NY state I loved to watch it snow–but I now live in Florida–soooo–
but may make it for a friend–
thanks for the pattern-
enjoy the moments-di
Thank you Barbara, Love your pattern.
Warm hugs,
Ruthie
What sweet snowflakes. Personally I prefer to see them on a wall hanging, if I have to drive to work! LOL!!
Thank you for the pattern. What a very cute mini wall quilt! We are having a very light snow winter in New England, too.
I get very annoyed when I see eight-sided snowflakes. Our internet is very spotty because of the snow, so if you don’t hear from me for a while, that is why! Maybe I will get some appliqué done today!
Thanks for the cute pattern. It is great having someone who realizes that snowflakes are 6-sided and that you can fold paper to cut them. I really like your alphabet also.
I like your applique project. I’m not sure I would like the 9″, though!
Thanks all! It is snowing right now and we have had snow since Friday morning. We have had at least 9″, but some has melted!
this is very nice. it is on my list to learn applique this year.
Barbara, What a wonderful project this is and you stepped out quite nicely if I say so myself. The snowflakes are so cute and so fun and I hope ya’ll get snow very very soon.. I know it’s been hard in CA these last few years. I’m so happy you joined us for this hop.. 🙂
A lovely winter project. Thank you for sharing. I am a follower of your alphabet series so this “Snow” pattern was an extra special treat.
Your project is really cute. I LOVE the snowflakes–so different, just like the real snow.
I live in the South so snow is a treat for us because we don’t get it that often. When we do, it is so awesome! I love the snow. Thank you for sharing today.
