Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells! It Came Upon a Midnight Clear! Sleigh Bells are Ringing! Silent Night, Holy Night! Oh, Tannenbaum!
My goodness, it is still August, why are we talking about Christmas? We know as crafters, quilters, and sewists, if we don’t get going on our Christmas projects by this time of the year, we will never get them done in time for December 25!
Starting September 5 through October 5, 2017, a new row along blog hop based on Christmas Carols is hosted by Marian Pena of Sew it Seams. Thank you for inviting me again Marian!
In case this is new to you, a blog hop is similar to a shop hop, but instead of going from one real store to another, you go to different blogs on the internet.
There are 45 designers from all over the world! When you go to the listed designer’s blogs on their release dates, you can download their “Row Along” patterns for free! Mine will be published on September 14. The patterns will only be available free until the end of October, so don’t procrastinate!
On top of that, on each blog, you can enter to win great quilterly items, donated by a number of different companies, including me, bdieges designs! Each event will feature different prizes that are available on that day. So you want to make sure that you check in every day.
If you click on the bell on the right it will take you to more information. I will also be keeping the schedule here on my blog, so you can check back to make sure you get all the patterns.
The piecing is finished just have to quilt it, here is a little teaser. It is mostly pieced with some appliqué, but it is not paper-pieced. Paper piecing is not my forté, actually, drives me bonkers. So I devised another method that is so much easier, at least it was for me. Maybe someone else has done this before, sorry if I am not giving them credit for it, but it is new to me. The technique is explained in the pattern. The appliqué can be done any way you want to do it.What makes this really special is that I have been “dreaming” of making a wall quilt to go behind our creche for the last 20 Christmases. Have used this piece of batik for all this time. Looks nice, but…This row is going to be the center of a triptych that hopefully will be done for this Christmas! So once the center is quilted I will be working on the two side pieces and the block of the month and the quilt that was should have been in the Glendale Quilt Guild next month, but won’t be because there was no way I could get it done and everything else too. Maybe in two years, God willing!
