This padded hexagonal box has an unusual closure, that comes as a kit. Choose your own fabrics and use it for sewing, jewelry, or other special treasures.
Almost 150 years ago it was illustrated in an 1867 Godey’s Lady’s Book. The 10″ box measures 10″ across at the top, about 4″ deep and 6″ across on the base. Realize these measurements are approximate, because of the padding, fabric, etc. They hold a lot!
The kit includes the pattern for THREE sizes, 6″, 8″ and 10″ AND the precut cardboard pieces for the 10″ size, which can be cut to fit for the smaller sizes. You provide the fabric, batting, lace, ribbon and creativity.
If you would like to take a class to make this box it is available at Academy of Quilting. What is especially nice about this class is that you can start it anytime you wish. If you decide to take the class, order only the Box Parts, below, since the pattern and instructions are part of your class.
