The photos show several ways of displaying an appliqué of Snow Crystals, just a handful of the ones found on my hand appliquéd quilt, below on the left, that was on the cover of Quilter’s Newsletter Magazine January 1999. You can read more about it in My Favorite Quilts. Only the appliqué snowflakes are in the pattern, no piecing is included, to stimulate your own creativity.
The other one below on the right has iron on, machine appliqued snowflakes. After ironing on the snowflakes, I went wild with machine quilting using shiny filament around the edges of each snowflake.
There are seventy-five unique appliqué snowflakes from 3″ to 11″. Instructions are also included for cutting your own snowflakes and how to transfer them to the fabric.
The quilt is based on the Lotus Blossom Quilt, which is available here.
