A new star and flower were born, using a special SewFasst® technique. Which made this quilt easy to make and a delight to look at. See a few Starburst samples in the GALLERY.
While I was playing around with this technique, I realized it would make a great tulip. A tulip quilt had been on my list since I saw the tulip gardens of Keukenhof in the Netherlands. This technique was perfect! Quick techniques were also used to make the leaves.
Batiks were used for this 58″x70″ quilt since these fabrics are so intense in color. I could have made the background dark, but then the flower, stem and leaf fabrics would need to be made in pastel or jewel tone fabrics. See a few Tulip Garden samples in the GALLERY.
