There is a lot going on this month, and I am not just talking about Christmas!
Thought I would have the block finished and the January block started, but I also have to make a floor quilt for our grand-daughter.Laura had a couple of old tablecloths, that we thought we would use in a different way. The fabric still had lots of life to it. I layered the backing, tablecloth and batting, sewed around the edges, leaving an opening to turn the whole thing right side out. Then quilted it with some simple lines. It gave me some practice time with machine quilting.
I truly liked this setting and thought about using it for this year, but wanted to put the blocks on point and knew I couldn’t do that for the upcoming blocks. So here is the setting for 2015.Put the blocks and some of the sashing strips up on my design board. A few of them are together, so the two blocks on the left are sewn to the sashing strip. I love the way it looks so far. What do you think?

2016 Block of the Month
In the year to come, you will be presented with thirteen floral alphabet blocks. The alphabet will continue, God willing, into 2017 with the last half of the alphabet! There will be two blocks for one month, somewhere in the middle of each year.
Once again I have not designed a quilt, although I will try to do that as we go along, but I am hoping that you will enjoy using the blocks for name banners or pillows or whatever. Each month also includes the lower-case letters, but they are not part of the block design. The EQ design will be available as well.
If you want to use the blocks in a quilt be my guest, please share a photo with us.
